Hi I’m John Mikita your Liberal Candidate for Yerrabi.

I’ve lived in Gungahlin for two decades and I’m raising my young family here.

As a dad and small business owner, I understand the cost-of-living pressures that families are facing.

I believe in supporting my local community, those without a voice, and delivering practical solutions.

In November 1999, two offenders broke into the home of my grandparents, killing my grandmother, Irma Palasics, and severely assaulting my grandfather, Gregor.

After 24 years of battling with the ACT Government to progress the investigation, two alleged offenders were arrested in late 2023.

Today, I remain focused on campaigning for our over-worked and under-resourced police force to receive the funding and support they need.

Having successfully run the Who Killed Irma? campaign, I know how to get things done.

As part of Elizabeth Lee’s Liberal team, I will deliver for local families.

With your support at the ACT election on 19 October, I’ll focus on:

• Make it more affordable to buy, own and rent a home.
• Employ 200 more frontline police officers to tackle crime and improve safety.
• Address traffic congestion and provide more transport options.
• Hire more nurses, doctors, paramedics, and firies.
• Get our basic services back, including grass mowing and fixing potholes.
